The cost and value of knowledge

I was a student in France when I discovered the Internet and the World Wide Web. At that time, I didn’t realize the value of the thing, even though I taught myself HTML from what was available at the time (even if I don’t remember the sites - they probably have disappeared into Limbo). When I began my professional life,  a project director of mine joked about the difference between the developer and the expert: 'The expert knows about the cabinet where the documentation is'.

Learning Management System and shared hosting

You probably know about CMS (Content Management System). There’s a specialized form of CMS which focuses on learning and is known as (wait for it): Learning Management System (LMS). Well, since I teach in engineer schools, the thought of being able to provide such a service to my students appealed to me. After a short review of avalaible applications (I happen to have a life and cannot develop all nights), the choices narrowed to : Moodle,Dokeos,Claroline.
